Berkshire Concert Choir presents “Sacred Place”

The Berkshire Concert Choir and Artistic Director Ryan LaBoy welcome the
community to their fall performances of “Sacred Place,” on November 15 and 16 at the
Common Room of Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield.
Sacred Place offers audiences an intimate and immersive concert experience performed by the
103-member chorus. Inspired by Jewish heritage, the program journeys inward as we consider
our universal connection to the Earth and each other. Musical selections include: Eric Whitacre’s
shimmering settings of love songs, Alex Berko’s Sacred Place set to lyrics by writers and poets
reflecting on the beauty of the environment, and Stephen Paulus’s ethereal Hymn to the Eternal
Flame. Guest artists: Jamecyn Morey (violin), Julian Müller (cello), and Aaron Likness (piano).
There will be three performances each day at 3:00, 4:30, and 6:00 PM. Audience members will
be seated around a labyrinth painted on canvas; they will be invited to walk its paths during
portions of the performance. Advance ticketing is recommended because audience size will be
limited.
